Planning on camping this weekend You may be out of luck if you don t have reservations There s no room at Ft Lincoln State Park south of Mandan They ve been full for Labor Day weekend for the past three months Ft Lincoln has room for 95 campers Every site is taken The park manager says most of the campers are local and have come out early to get prime spots 15 03 Dan I think again with Gas Prices the way they are more people are staying close to home and our local folks know that we fill up fast and we only have so many sites so we ve had some come in as early as Monday to stake out there claim for a campsite here 15 23 But if you missed out on Ft Lincoln this weekendyou ve still got a lot more time The campsite is open year round 16 12 Dan We ll plow snow in the campground here if you want to do some winter camping so the camper I saw last year was on Thanksgiving day and I had to come down here to smell the air to see if they were cooking a turkey and they were so year round were open year round 16 30 Morton County is under a burn banso no open fires are allowed You can cook with gas and charcoal grills at Ft Lincoln Sibley Park in south Bismarck is also booked for campers As of todaythey are not under a burn ban But the park manager says that will likely change tomorrow morning Cross Ranch State Park near Washburn has plenty of campsites available if you looking for a place close to home There number is 701-794-3731 If you plan to camp this weekend-it s best to check with your local sheriff to see if there is a burn ban in your area
